Apocalypse Studios

Hi there, folks! I'm Doctor Ozone.

I've been on the World Wide Web for two years now, and involved with computers and the Internet for quite a bit longer. My focus differs from many others in the business of WWW design. I am, first and foremost, an artist, and the computer is my medium. My original training is in the field of Industrial Design. I've spent the last 15 years working first as a Furniture & Interior designer, and later as Manager of a commercial printing firm.

First, to clear up a few misconceptions, "DocOzone" is *not* a team of designers, it is just me. I have a vision of what the Web should look like, and what it can be. I've dedicated myself to making this vision a reality. Up to this time, I've worked behind the scenes, helping others to perfect their control of their Graphics and HTML coding. I will continue this service as best as I can; feel free to Email me, advice is always free!

So ANYway, What's the point of this page? Well, as you may have guessed, I'm now taking myself commercial, and I'm going into the business of freelance WWW and Graphic Design. I have resigned my position as Mananger of my printing firm, and am devoting myself to this work full-time. My credentials are here for all to see, my Web site has proven itself capable of maintaining an average hit count of 150,000+ hits/day. This actually works out to about 3000 *visits* per day. Make sure you don't confuse the two terms. 'Hits' will tell you how many actual calls were made to your server, including images, GIFs, HTML pages, etc., and 'visits' are how many folks actually stopped by. My stats show that the average visitor stays around for quite a while, viewing approximately 40-100 images and/or pages during their stay. These will be important numbers to watch for those of you considering bringing your business onto the World Wide Web. You want as many *visitors* as you can get, and you want them to actually stick around long enough to get your message.

This is where I come in. These days, it's simply not enough to put your pages up on the web. Your average 'net-surfer' has seen it all, to hold their attention you've got to have an edge. How to hold the world-weary, jaded Internet user? First off, your site had better be well organized, with the data laid out in an understandable manner. Second, and sometimes most important, it had better be fun. For the first time, we have an advertising medium that people actually have to *want* to see. You will be judged by how you present yourself. An amateurish site will reflect badly on your company, just as a professional site will raise peoples estimation of you and your services.

Apocalypse Studios will be the name of my foray into the maelstrom of commercial Web Design. Over the next few weeks, there will be some drastic changes happening around here. My domain name has already been registered, and soon this site will be accessible at the URL "www.bugtown.com". While there will always be a link between my personal site and my commercial site, I plan to keep both sites as separate entities. For all the folks who've made this site such a success, worry not. I will continue to update and maintain the "OZONE" site, and it will be here that I'll try out most of my new tricks.

If you've enjoyed my work here, and you're also in need of help with a commercial project, my services are now available to you. No matter what your needs, I will be able to help you out. Need a header graphic and buttons, but want to do your own HTML coding? Not a problem, I can work to your specs. Don't know how to get started, or don't have the time to invest in doing it yourself? I can build you a complete site, and arrange for the housing and maintainance of it. Contact me by Email, or at my cellular #(612) 805-XXXX. Full quotes will be provided before work commences, there will be no surprises in store for you. Initial consultations are free. My aim is to make your entry onto the World Wide Web as painless and successful as possible. Call me.

Your pal, -doc-
